Vanuatu,
an Island Nation in the South Pacific Ocean, over 1000 miles East of
Northern Australia, has a total land area of 4,710 square miles and a
population of over 243,000. Vanuatu, part of the Australasia ecozone, is
categorized as a terrestrial ecoregion. The region is rich in sea life,
with more than 4,000 species of marine mollusks. The growing population
is squeezing the available natural resources. The major sectors of its
